We saw a big increase in wildfire smoke today thanks to our winds shifting out of the north. Air quality declined through the day to dangerous levels for parts of Minnesota and unhealthy at times in southeast Minnesota. Our air quality alert is in effect until 3 p.m. tomorrow afternoon, but we'll likely see some smokey skies sticking around at least through Saturday.
The hazy and partly cloudy skies will persist through the day tomorrow. High temperatures will likely stay in the upper 70s with comfortable dew points. We'll see a bit more sunshine through the hazy on Saturday with highs in the low 80s. A few storms are possible during the evening, though they're looking isolated at this time.
Skies will begin to clear a bit more on Sunday though high temperatures will still remain in the mid to upper 70s. This weekend will be a huge cooldown compared to last weekend! Mainly dry weather will continue through next week, hopefully, the rest of August will bring us some more rainfall. High temperatures will stay comfortable but will be on the rise throughout the week.
