Forest City celebrates grand opening of Boman Fine Arts Center

FOREST CITY, Iowa (FOX47) – Forest City, Iowa celebrated the grand opening of their state of the art fine art’s Center Monday night.

The Boman Fine Arts Center has been in the works since early 20-17 and today it officially opened to the public.

The center became a reality after the Forest City school district, the City of Forest City and Waldorf University came together for major fundraising.

The event included tours of the building and performances by the Forest City band and choir and the Waldorf band and choir.

The center includes a 630 seat theatre and hosts a 36′ v 80′ stage with orchestra pit, green room, dressing rooms, staging and set production area, full fly area and rigging, along with state of the art electronics.

The upper level mezzanine has available seating for 200 people.

The center is located on John K. Hanson Drive in Forest City
