Happy Halloween! We really couldn’t have closed out October on a nicer note than today as we saw mostly sunny skies with high temperatures returning to the mid 50s! This pleasant stretch of weather continues through this evening for trick-or-treaters and for the 1st day of November before we trend back to clouds and rain by Friday! A slightly cooler air mass moves back over southeast Minnesota for Thursday so despite the sunshine, temperatures may only top the lower 50s.
Our next chance for rain arrives for Friday, but it looks like this incoming storm system will be moisture starved so only expect to see spotty rain showers as high temperatures are held back to the upper 40s. We’ll see a better shot for rain Saturday afternoon and into Sunday as a more robust storm system arrives from the southwest. At the moment, this storm system appears to contain enough warm air for a mainly rain event for southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa as air temperatures stay well above freezing for both Saturday night and into Sunday. High temperatures this weekend remain stuck in the mid to upper 40s!
